A Culinary Journey aboard the British Pullman in 2014

Announced for 2014, Executive Head Chef Robbie Gleeson hosts, along with a selection of award-winning chefs, a brand new series of pop-up evenings on the British Pullman.

Cuisine from all over the world and several household names will be coming to the vintage carriages from the 1920s to the sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

The pop-up dinners are restricted to 100 people aboard the British Pullman with a wide variety of food on offer; from top quality ‘pub food’ to ‘Cuisine Naturelle’ with a Royal seal of approval.

Executive Head Chef, Robbie Gleeson, has invited a selection of his favourite chefs to work with him in his kitchen to recreate their menus in the art-deco Pullman dining cars.

“Cooking aboard the British Pullman is not like anything a chef has ever done before - I’m really excited about collaborating with the all of the invited chefs and looking forward to working together with them to devise an unforgettable menu within the constraints of the train’s galley kitchen,” comments Robbie Gleeson, Executive Head Chef.

After the original pop-up dinner in November 2013, and back through unprecedented demand, Chef Patron Raymond Blanc, OBE, is returning with his acclaimed team from the exclusive Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire to the Pullman’s gallery kitchens on 13th March.

On 8th May, Vivek Singh of The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen and Cinnamon Soho will take guests on a sumptuous journey back to India. Vivek is creating an authentic modern Indian menu with several contemporary additions, with inspirational from traditional recipes matching up with quality wines.

The Chef Patron of the UK’s only Two Michelin starred public house, Tom Kerridge, brings his team aboard the British Pullman on 12th July.

On 10th October, one of London’s rising stars, Tom Sellers, steps aboard. His culinary vision tells its own story through a creative and nostalgic journey via bold British flavours.

James Martin host of BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen, a platform for many rising chefs, visits the train on 23rd October to showcase his favourite dinners from his 20 year career.

Mosimann’s is one of the top private dining clubs in London. Having catered for the recent Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as the House of Switzerland at the Winter Olympics, its gourmet delicacies are extremely popular. Anton Mosimann’s team will be cooking for guests on 13th November avoiding all oils, salt and fats and only using fresh vegetables.

Robbie Gleeson himself will be hosting an exclusive seasonal tasting menu 5th June and 11th September with champagne as well as specially selected wines. Guests on the British Pullman enjoy the very best of British cuisine from Robbie’s experience at tops establishments such as The Dorchester and his very own restaurant in Gleeson’s, Dublin which was named ‘Restaurant of the Year’ by Good Food Ireland.

The British Pullman offers one of London’s most exclusive and luxurious dining experiences. The events organised so far follow up on the resounding success of Marcus Wareing and The Gilbert Scott’s ‘Best of British’ pop-up event this January. Guests are given the opportunity to engage with a period where travellers dressed elegantly and had the time to enjoy their journey.
