Alexandra Ushamirskaya has been in London since she went to university and has worked in the hospitality industry before joining Jewellery Theatre on Old Bond Street as Director. Her passion for the London jewellery and lifestyle industry is visible in her personality and the way she deals with her clients.

Alexandra told us about how her day usually pans out in London!

''My day usually starts at around 6 a.m. I always like to arrive at the boutique having answered most of the e-mails which I receive overnight from my colleagues in different time zones. Mornings in Old Bond Street are always a busy affair, with various building works, flower deliveries and the glamorous ladies walking their tiny dogs.

When there are breakfast meetings to attend, The Wolseley and Cecconi's are my top two choices in the area. You really cannot beat the atmosphere.

My morning at work usually revolves around making our jewellery displays look fantastic. It is very important for me to be meticulous- every angle, every ray of light and every speck of dust matters. As we have 20 collections which are all very different from each other, I like to ensure that it is easy for the customer's eye to travel through the boutique displays, without being overwhelmed by the choice.

If I am going out for lunch, I will probably choose Novikov or the Arts Club. Not only are they both very close to me, in case I have to dash back, but the food and service are always outstanding. Most of the time I tend to make do with lunch at my desk, though!

The working day constantly brings surprises. I always love showing around clients who are discovering Jewellery Theatre for the first time. It is a magical occasion, and our company always aim to surprise and delight. Working on bespoke jewellery orders with our customers is one of my favourite aspects of my job, and actually some of our most exquisite collections were born this way. In particular, it always surprises me how imaginative and romantic men can get, when designing a unique piece for their other halves.

In the evenings, there are always fantastic events and openings to go to - Londoners are incredibly lucky, it is almost impossible to be bored in this City! I enjoy going to Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill, it always feels like I have been transported to another world when I am there. After dinner, there is nothing better than indulging in the plush atmosphere of a beautiful hotel bar, such as Brown's or Mandarin Oriental.''
