Wimbledon Bookfest takes place from Saturday 28th September – Sunday 13th October 2013. For the seventh year running, the Wimbledon Bookfest aims to celebrate all things literature with a number of exciting events taking place which should feed your book obsession or fan the flames of a new literary interest.
One of the main attractions at the Wimbledon Bookfest include a live performance of Eoin Colfer's new novel, W.A.R.P The Reluctant Assassin, which will star the well-known children's author himself alongside actors and even a magician. Colfer is best known for his children's novels such as Artemis Fowl, and after this impressive show there will be a short question and answer session with Eoin Colfer, so fans of all ages can find out more about his latest work.
Another attraction will be the appearance of greatly loved comedians, such as Tim Vine and Jay Rayner who will be putting on hilarious shows inside the specially commissioned 6500 square foot Big Tent housed on Wimbledon Common. Other highlights include an evening with Michael Palin, who will be talking about his extensive travels around the world and his latest voyage to Brazil.
There truly will be something for everyone as kids will also be catered for as there are a number of activities including an appearance from the from the greatly loved Wombles, which features music and storytelling.
