The Pearls Exhibition at the
V&A takes place from Saturday 21st September 2013 - Sunday 19th January 2014 where you can experience the mesmerising beauty of a type of jewellery that has captivated the human race for centuries.
This incredible display of rare jewellery is likely to capture the imagination and inspire all those who attend. Intricate pieces from all over the world will be showcased so if you have an inclination towards aesthetics and beauty, then make sure you don’t miss out.
In spite of the common misconception that pearls are only formed perfectly round in shape and white in colour, they can actually take on a variety of shapes and colours including black, blue, green and even purple. The Pearls exhibition aims to showcase this by including a number of different styles of jewellery from companies such as Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany, and Chaumet.
At the event there will also be a number of priceless examples including Mary Queen of Scots’ necklace, a collection of tiaras worn by royalty, and a pair of pearl drop earrings owned by Elizabeth Taylor. There will also be a number of paintings and portraits that nicely round out the exhibition, so don’t miss out and make your way to the
V&A.
After the exhibition, why not stop in
Amanda Wakeley’s boutique on Fulham Road and see some of the latest collections.
