With the Big Jubilee Lunch taking place on the 3rd of June across the UK,  what is a better way to enjoy a summers afternoon than enjoying a Lunch fit for a Queen with neighbours and friends. What is so special about The Big Lunch is that food and people are the key ingredients. People themselves decide everything about their own event from venue to theme. This year The Big Lunch falls on the same weekend as The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations and promises to be bigger than ever.

The aim of The Big Lunch is to get as many people as possible across London and the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours. The Big Lunch may take the form of a traditional street party or a picnic with a small group of friends. Every year since the Big Lunch initiative began back in 2009 the Big Lunch which takes place the first Sunday in June has become hugely popular across the UK. Every year more than a million people taking part in the Lunch and this year’s special Big Jubilee Lunch is likely to attract even more participants. The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project that is championed ecumenically by HOPE.
