In celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, Harrods are collaborating with a selection of the worlds finest fashion designers to showcase a spectacular collection of evening gowns and crowns designed exclusively for the luxury department store.
From Tuesday May 15th, Harrods will unveil the beautiful ballgown boutique in celebration of the V&A’s spectacular exhibition - ‘Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950’. The boutique will display an exclusive collection of ballgowns from leading fashion designers including Erdem, Marchesa, Ralph & Russo, Carolina Herrera, Toujouri, J. Mendel, Roberto Cavalli, Valentino, Nina Ricci, Jenny Packham and Elie Saab.
Based on a replica of the St. Edward’s coronation crown, the thirty one crowns created for the exhibition will be on a dazzling display at the Brompton road windows at Harrods, London. The crowns have been carefully crafted by a selection of the leading brands available at Harrods including Paul Smith, De Beers, Tiffany & Co, Boucheron, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Mulberry, Faberge, Shu Uemura, Jo Malone and Lanvin.
The Ballgowns & Crowns exhibition will be on display at Harrods from Tuesday May 15th to Friday June 15th, 2012. Those wishing to purchase from this special collection will have the opportunity to visit the notable Penthouse, Harrods’ most exclusive personal shopping space on the 5th floor, where they may have a one-to-one consultation.
Exclusive Jubilee Jewellery
Harrods is also offering an exclusive showcase of the new Jubilee collection of jewellery pieces designed by award-winning jewellers Astley Clarke, Shaun Leane and Georg Jensen.
Astley Clarke have created a series of British charms in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee from their celebrated Biography collection. Available in 18ct yellow gold vermeil, each charm is adorned with gemstones and key motifs which include a sleeping fox, wellington boot,a squirrel with an acorn and the ‘Jubilee Strawberry’ studded with diamond pave seeds.
A striking collection of colourful interlocking rings and bangles is available from Shaun Leane in celebraton of the Jubilee. This collection, exclusive to Harrods, features Leane’s signature tusk motif, inspired by the red, white and blue colours of the British flag, available in white diamonds, blue sapphires and red rubies set in 18ct White gold.
Georg Jensen have recreated their outstanding Regitze collection in white gold with white pave diamonds for the Jubilee celebration. The collection includes a stunning statement collar, necklace, bracelet and earrings. The bracelet will be exclusive to Harrods.
