Stamford Bridge

Fulham Road, London SW6 1HS

Stamford Bridge is the traditional home ground of Chelsea FC and one of the oldest stadiums in England. It is located in an upmarket area of West London and has hosted many major matches.

Offically opened in 1877, in the early years the stadium was used by the London Athletic Club for athletics. The stadium was initally offered to Fulham FC, and after they turned it down Chelsea Football Club was born in 1905. It has undergone considerable renovations over the last 15 years with a hotel and apartment complex built into the Chelsea Village. The 12.5 acre site includes 2 4 star hotel, 3 restaurants, conference and banqueting facilities and underground car park health club and business facilities. Currently there is almost no part of the original stadium remaining, apart from the huge old Shed wall.

The current capacity stands at 41,837.

Tours run every day, apart from home match days and the day before home Champions League fixtures and last approx 1 hour.
