The North Greenwich Arena was initially developed for the Millennium celebrations in London. It is an iconic structure on the London skyline instantly recognisable with its vast dome. The venue will host various including the Olympic Gymnastic events, the Olympic Basketball and Wheelchair Basketball events. After the Games it will continue in its role as a multipurpose music and entertainment venue on the Greenwich Peninsula. The North Greenwich Arena is also known as the O2 Arena.
