Lee Valley White Water Centre hosted the canoe slalom events of the 2012
Summer Olympics. This state of the art venue was officially opened on the
9 December 2010, by Royal Princes Anne. The £31 million project was
finished on schedule and was the first newly-constructed Olympic venue to
be completed.

FaulknerBrowns Architects were responsible for design of this structure that
has also been selected to host the 2015 ICF Canoe Slalom World
Championships which reflects the quality of venue it truly is. The Lee Valley
White Water Centre is located between the towns of Waltham Crossin
Hertfordshire and Waltham Abbey in Essex and the site sits just outside
the northern boundary of Greater London and 9 miles north of the Queen
Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, east London.

Olympic events that took place close by in Lee Valley included hockey and
tennis so visitors were ensured that the location was fun filled and buzzing
with atmosphere.
