Hyde Park in London had the pleasure of hosting the finishing stages of the Triathlon
for the 2012 Olympic Games and also hosted a number of Olympic concerts.
Fans had superb views of the events as they unfolded within the Park and it also
hosted many music and entertainment shows throughout the Games last summer.
The Park has hosted many concerts and events throughout its history and it is
located quite close to London’s exclusive shopping districts in the West End.

Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in London city centre, and also one of the
Royal Parks in London. This regal park is in fact the largest of four parks which
is attached from the entrance of Kensington Palace. Historically, Hyde Park was
the place of the Great Exhibition of 1851 for which Joseph Paxton designed the
Crystal Palace. The park has also a tradition for mass demonstrations including,
The Chartists, the Reform League, the Suffragettes and the Stop the War
Coalition all of whom have held protests in Hyde Park.

The Royal Parks put in place a plan in support of the delivery of the Olympic
Games to protect and conserve the parks for current and future generations.
This plan controled the impact of the games to ensure safe access for visitors
to the park. This plan also made sure that the park was returned to its pre
game appearance and condition.
