Greenwich Park

Charlton Way, Greenwich, London SE10 8QY

Greenwich Park on the Thames River in South East London is the oldest Royal Park in the city, dating as far back as 1433. It is a fantastic venue with stunning views of London and the Docklands. Greenweich Park has been designated by UNESCO as a Global Heritage Centre since 1997.

During the 2012 Olympic Games Greenwich Park hosted Equestrian events including jumping dressage, eventing, paralympic equestrian as well as disciplines of the modern pentathlon. These exciting events tested both the ability of the rider and horse in terms of athletic prowess and elegance. The competitors will be judged on canter, full pass, half pass and self carriage to name a few. Fans enjoyed spectacular scenery while experiencing the thrill of the Equestrian Olympic Games London 2012.
Greenwich Park currently houses the Royal Observatory and National Maritime Museum. The Royal Observatory is the traditional home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). All of the temporary buildings were removed after the Games and there are plans to redevelop aspects of The Park with input from local residents appreciated.
