A new source of inspiration derives from a journey by the designer Alexander Wang and his studio to the birthplace of Christobal Balenciaga. The new collection has an air of the seaside, the laid back and undone styles are juxtaposed with ridgid and immaculate tailoring. Alexander Wang spent several weeks in Getaria, a small town on the Spanish basque coast, which houses the extensive archive and museum of Christobal Balenciaga.
This season colors are graphic and monochrome with a restraint colour palette of black, white and pale pink. The prints are strong and vibrant in black and white. They highlight the artisanal side of the brand, the hand drawn aspect of “noise”, “grid” and “ink drawing” styles.
The waistline is alluded to, without being strictly defined, the silhouettes are free and suggest an air of luxury and seaside leisure."
