Sheila Teague is the Co-Founder of Fine Jewellery Brand, Wright & Teague which she co-founded with Gary Wright. This unique gem of a jeweller in London is located in the Burlington Arcade.
Sheila, being a Londoner, told us about her favourite hidden gems and what would make a Quintessential day in London for her:
Breakfast at Maison Bertaux, 28 Greek Street Soho run by our very good friends Michele and Tania Wade. A unique environment, in fact London's oldest patisserie, all the delicious pastries are made on the premises.
Coffee for work and home bought at Algerian Coffee Stores in Old Compton Street
I rarely eat lunch except maybe fruit as I find it slows me down and I want to be fully alert to enjoy the wonderful variety of people that visit us in the Burlington Arcade! My days are spent between creating jewellery in our workshop below our shop and the shop itself. Wright & Teague are the only company still actually making their work on site in the Arcade following the tradition established in Georgian times when the Arcade was first opened by Lord Burlington.
When not at work I am usually enjoying the fantastic breadth of culture we are privileged to enjoy in London. The Tate, Modern and Britain and the V&A in which our work is held in the permanent collection are top favourites. Research and development are key priorities in the process of the jewellery Gary Wright and I design. We have worked and lived together since meeting at Central Saint Martins quite sometime ago, a true artistic partnership.
I love theatre, particularly the Royal Court and The National; a pleasure to see both new and historical writing.
Back home to Shoreditch for dinner at lovely local Italian Bottega Prelibato in Rivington Street.
Looking forward to new cocktail bar, Night Elm opening below the always inventive Rita's restaurant, 175 Mare Street Hackney run by Gabriel Pryce, Jackson Boxer and Missy Flynn.
