There are very few things that London can’t offer to travelers and one of them is scenic views of the country side. Scotland is renowned for its spectacular scenery, sport and wildlife. Gleneagles offers guests the opportunity to experience these closely. Getting out of London for a couple of days is relaxing and refreshing for the body and soul. Gleneagles offers some relaxing Spa treatments at their ESPA Spa with indoor and outdoor pools.
The world’s best whisky can't be found elsewhere but in Scotland. At Gleneagles guests have the opportunity to blend their own whisky, get the opportunity to learn in depth about the history of Johnnie Walker by an expert in the field and you get to take away a small sample of what you blend!
Gleneagles is also is the perfect place for all the foodies out there. We highly enjoyed the breakfast at the Strathearn Restaurant, lunch at the Bar and a Mediterranean dinner at Deseo. All restaurants at Gleneagles offer a different cuisine, experience and great service. For those who are looking for a variety of restaurants and tastes, we do highly recommend a couple of days in Gleneagles to try the Michelin Starred meal by Andrew Fairlie, amazing breakfast and Award Winning Afternoon Tea.
Falconry is an exclusive sport, considered to be the oldest and most aristocratic sports. To be fully able to appreciate it, one needs to experience it first-hand. Our experience of the falconry introductory class at Gleneagles was mind-blowing. The instructors have a vast array of experiences with beginners so there is no reason to be nervous. Above all, the hawks are well trained and extremely amicable with the guests. We not only had the opportunity to meet the little friends at the Falconry School but also had the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with holding and flying a hawk.
Being the Ryder Cup 2014 Venue we cannot forget the vast golf grounds at Gleneagles. The breathtaking grounds are a great place for a golf break. The three championship golf courses at Gleneagles are considered to be amongst the best worldwide. For those who aren’t yet ready to take the full courses the nine hole Pitch & Putt is perfect for beginners and all levels.
In addition to all the above activities, Gleneagles also offers exciting fishing and equestrian activities.
