The Laurent-Perrier 16th RHS Chelsea Flower Show Appearance

Under the stewardship of Luciano Giubbilei, Champagne Laurent-Perrier is returning to the 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the sixteenth year in a row from 20-24 May 2014.

He has designed an exquisitely layered garden, targeting visitors by stimulating enjoyment and contemplation. The creativity, elegance and pioneering spirit of Champagne House compliments Giubbilei’s interests in from, texture and light.

The differing concepts of elegance and rawness as well as stillness and movement are detailed in design of the garden. Light and animation is provided by the flow and reflection of the water and the stone surfaces have been subjected to differing finishes. Lustres and materials are combined to produce the concrete walls and metal. A variety of colours including yellows, creams and whites upon a deep green backdrop are key points of the planting features.

Highly respected American artist Ursula von Rydingsvard will be exploring texture for the garden. Laurent-Perrier and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, one of the leading centres for modern and contemporary sculpture worldwide, will team up to include this meticulously crafted piece using assembled layers of cedar.

Luciano Giubbilei has twice before designed a garden for Laurent-Perrier, the having tasted success with gold medal-winning performances in 2009 and 2011. Laurent Perrier has also emerged victorious winning Best in Show in 2003 and 2008 and has amassed 13 gold medals and two silver medals in total.

Champagne Laurent-Perrier, based in the heart Champagne in Tours-sur-Marne, is one of the most well regarded champagnes globally. It uses its traditional handcrafting methods to create a wide range of fine champagnes in the optimum growing conditions of the region, which reflects its strong interest in spectacular garden design.
