Prudential RideLondon 2013

Prudential RideLondon will take place on Saturday 3rd August and Sunday 4th August this year in central London and will feature a host of cycling events for both professional cyclists as well as families. The events are set to be broadcasted worldwide to millions of viewers across the globe.

The 4 major events during on this weekend are:

FreeCycle – Taking place on Saturday, this features an 8 mile family themed cycle with lots of fun things to do on the way including bicycle related entertainment stands, as well as a world record attempt for most single bicycles in an event.

Grand Prix – This also takes place on Saturday and includes handcycle racing with a range of Olympic cyclists and champions competing on the day close to St James’s Park.

Surrey 100 – The main leg of this 2 day event boasts 20,000 cyclists taking part in a cycle around London and Surrey that stretches for 100 miles from Olympic Stadium in London, through Surrey and then back to London city.

Surrey Classic – The final part of RideLondon features 150 of the best cyclists worldwide following the same path as the Surrey 100. Many of the big names from the Tour de France will take part.

There are numerous cycle hire facilities available also for anyone who does not have a bike, as well as facilities for drinks stations and bathroom breaks.

The whole race is free to view and visitors are advised to find good vantage points early.
