Lady Lyttelton Afternoon Tea at The Stafford London

The Stafford London are launching a new Afternoon Tea this May 2013. The executive chef Brendan Fyldes created The Stafford’s new Afternoon Tea the ‘Lady Lyttelton’ after being inspired by traditional and quintessentially British baking with a hint of Kempinski patisserie flair. Enjoy Afternoon Tea in the setting of The Stafford where this English ritual first began.

The ‘Lady Lyttelton Afternoon Tea’ is in honour of Lady Sarah Lyttelton, the historic owner of the Main House at The Stafford, and Lady in Waiting to Queen Victoria. Our Lady Lyttelton Afternoon Tea is served in The Lyttelton Lounge and restaurant being the former dining room and drawing room of the Lyttelton family and their distinguished guests.

This tea features a signature Lady Lyttelton cake: the ‘Tipsy’ cake aptly named with layers of jams, cream and a tipple of Madeira reminiscent of the cakes enjoyed by ladies during the Victorian era. Accompanying this is the daintiest edible dark chocolate teacup filled with white chocolate and ginger tea mousse, petite sandwiches and of course warm, fluffy scones, the traditional sweet treat made fashionable by Queen Victoria. And lastly, crowning the tea and certainly the Queen of puddings on this new menu, ‘Bosphorale’, the Kempinski Dessert of 2013, which is being launched at The Stafford on 30th April 2013 as part of the Kempinski PR Roadshow.
