Royal Ascot 2013

The 2013 Royal Ascot meet will take place from Tuesday 18th June to Saturday 22nd June at the Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, just outside of London. The meeting was first established in 1711 and is attended by members of the Royal Family who arrive via horse drawn carriage each day. Over a quarter of a million people attend the world famous event that, in 2013, boasts a record purse of £5,000,000.

Each day The Royal Procession will make its way from the Golden Gates, along the racecourse and into the Parade Ring from 2.00pm each afternoon. The first race of six each day is at 2.30pm and the last race is at 5.35pm. The Royal enclosure is a uniquely exclusive area where the wealthy experience the true luxury that Royal hospitality can provide, and a place where the dress code is strictly enforced.

The highlight of the event for serious horse racing fans is the highly cherished Gold Cup race; Britain’s most prestigious horse race, which takes place on Thursday 20th June. However, for the fashion minded attendant, Ladies’ Day is the main attraction and this takes place on the Thursday also, making it the busiest day of the festival and ideal for both racing fans and the fashion conscious.
