Grace Belgravia has revolutionalised the private members space in London, catering to the needs of women only and allowing them to have a space to themselves to be able to unwind, relax and mingle with like minded women in the heart of Belgravia.

We had the opportunity to meet with the Founder and CEO of Grace Belgravia, Kate Percival and learn a bit more about the club.

What inspired you to launch a women’s only members club?

Women are widely spending majority of their time multi-tasking, always putting family and work before their own health. They usually feel guilty about having "me" time, and giving themselves breathing space. Grace has been created to put the best of the best under one umbrella - from health and well being through fitness, healthy eating, spa relaxation and mental stimulation through lectures and events. My dream to create a place where women could come and feel nurtured, cared for and intellectually stimulated has come to life in the form of Grace.  We talk about empowering women, giving them the tools to go out and be the best that they can be.

What are your criteria for membership?

Grace is for impressive women who recognise that they’re fallible and are looking for support; it’s not for spoilt women who are looking for a place to have lunch. I request these women to leave their egos at the door and be nurtured by the space and facilities that Grace has to offer.

Who are the members of Grace Belgravia?

There isn’t a ‘classic’ Grace Member; our membership is an eclectic representation of many professions, backgrounds and personal situations. We have a wide age range from mid 20s on mother and daughter memberships and late 20s and early 30s who love the weekend or weekday business membership. The average Member age is around 42 but predominantly members are late 30s to 50s.

Majority of the members are working women who see the club as a perfect place to unwind or to hold low key business meetings or breakfasts. Some use the library to get work done.  Every member is unique and the culture of the club allows them to use it in a way that really fits in with their lifestyle.

Professions include law, banking, art, media, medicine, telecoms, fashion with no one area dominating. The majority nationality by far is British, followed by American and Italian! And then a pretty equal spread of many other nationalities.

How has the response been from members?

Despite the club being busy and events being held on a regular basis, our members comment on how calm the atmosphere is. We also receive a lot of feedback on our Angels – available to each member for anything from booking a spa treatment to organising a table in the restaurant.  Our aim is to take away the stress from women's lives!

What is your favourite hotel in London and why?

The Lanesborough has to be my favourite, being so close to Belgravia and is more like a grand country town house than a hotel!
