The new Roja Parfums candle which is limited edition was inspired by Laurent-Perrier Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show London. The 2013 RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs from 21-25 May 2013.

This soothing lavender scented candle was created especially for the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show by the Master Perfumer Roja Dove. Lavender oil is very distinctive giving a fresh, sweet and natural composition. The finest lavender in the world used to be grown commercially in Mitcham near Croydon. The lavender used in Roja Parfums candle is made from the finest grade oils.

Known for its ability to induce a sense of well-being, the fragrant herb has been used as a perfume and in perfumery for over 2,500 years. This strictly limited edition candle is available exclusively in luxury London hotel gift shop Shop at The Dorchester. This latest Laurent-Perrier Lavender Candle by Roja Parfums is the second in a series of bespoke candles inspired by Laurent-Perrier’s award-winning 2013 Chelsea Flower Show gardens.

Uniting the classic style of French and English gardens, The Laurent-Perrier Garden is a contemporary take on a romantic garden created by award-winning designer Ulf Nordfjell. His design is inspired by the work of two remarkable women: Nicole de Vésian’s famous garden La Louve in Provence, France and Ulla Molin’s private garden in Höganäs, Sweden. Echoing the beauty of its surroundings by using simple forms, pruned soft shapes and a selection of English perennials Ulf adds a modern Swedish touch to the garden.

Creator of the candle, Roja Dove explains, “Unbelievable as it may sound, the finest lavender in the world used to be grown commercially in Mitcham near Croydon. As an English perfumer I chose the finest perfume-grade lavender available today, which now comes from Grasse, as the key point of inspiration. It creates a legitimate, harmonious triangle that reflects and respects Ulf Nordfjell’s creative references as well as the national heritage of each of the collaborators of this project; a single, simple universally known and much loved fragrant ingredient becomes the leitmotif of all that is quintessentially English - the Chelsea Flower Show, The Dorchester, the heritage of English lavender, the perfumer; French - Laurent-Perrier, Nicole de Vésian’s gardens, lavender from Grasse; Swedish - Ulla Molin’s gardens, and of course - Ulf Nordfjell.”

In 2013 Laurent-Perrier celebrates its fifteenth year of RHS Chelsea Flower Show London garden sponsorship, coinciding with the centenary year of the show itself. As the official champagne of the prestigious event, Laurent-Perrier will be enjoyed across the show ground throughout the week.

The Laurent-Perrier Lavender Candle by Roja Parfums is available to purchase exclusively from Shop at The Dorchester and The Dorchester’s Online Shop from 18 May 2013, priced at £75.
