As the RHS Chelsea Flower Show celebrates its 100th Anniversary, Laurent-Perrier recognised as one of the foremost brands in Champagne are celebrating the occasion by creating its 15th show garden at The Chelsea Flower Show.
Uniting the classic style of French and English gardens, The Laurent-Perrier Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013 is very much a contemporary take on a romantic garden created by award-winning Swedish garden designer Ulf Nordfjell. The garden acknowledges the heritage of the family-owned Champagne House whilst incorporating a modern elegance. The design is inspired by the work of two remarkable women: Nicole de Vésian’s famous garden La Louve in Provence, France and Ulla Molin’s private garden in Höganäs Sweden.
The gardens echo the beauty of their surrounding landscapes by using simple forms and pruned, soft shapes. Both Nicole and Ulla were renowned for modernising horticulture in their respective regions.
Ulf comments: “I am delighted to return to the Chelsea Flower Show, which represents the highest possible horticultural standards, and for the opportunity to create Laurent-Perrier’s 15th show garden. I have tried to offer an insight into gardening history through my design, whilst translating the garden into something that is uniquely mine – modern minimalism with a touch of romance.”
Speaking of the garden design, David Hesketh, UK Managing Director commented; “The inspiration for this year’s garden is highly apt, reflecting our French heritage and long term relationship with the Chelsea Flower Show. Ulf’s design captures the essence of Laurent-Perrier – lightness, freshness and elegance – I’m excited to see the finished result.”
Laurent-Perrier is celebrating its 15th consecutive year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2013. Laurent-Perrier champagne will be enjoyed across the show grounds throughout the week.
