The Man Ray Exhibition London takes place at the National Portrait Gallery from Thursday 7th February – Monday 27th May 2013. Art lovers who enjoy the Surrealist and Dada movements may wish to visit this fantastic exhibition to see some fantastic contributions to these art genres. The exhibition is the first to retrospectively showcase the work of this influential artist and is definitely worth a visit.

Man Ray, was born towards the end of the 18th Century and was an American modernist who lived in France. His early career was spent creating surrealist paintings, however later on he developed photography as a new expressive platform for his art. He explored many things including film, sculpture and collages during his life, and ventured into what is now known as performance art and conceptual art. His work covered many mediums, yet his avant-garde photography is what he became most notable for, and the Man Ray Exhibition London aims to bring forward this aspect of his talents.

During his lifetime, Man Ray’s work was never recognised, yet in the decades since his passing his popularity has grown. The Man Ray Exhibition London demonstrates the artist’s impressive work and hope to highlight his significance to the world of art and photography. Make sure you don't miss out!
