The Imagine Childrens Literature Festival takes place at the Southbank Centre from Monday 11th February - Sunday 24th February 2013, inviting children and adults alike to enjoy literature, music, poetry, plays, comedy and much, much more.

A celebration of children’s literature and performing arts culture, the Imagine Childrens Festival brings together a collection of acclaimed authors and artists in one of the best-loved events of its kind. Children and adults alike can enjoy everything from a special performance of Barbar the Elephant to appearances by Simon Mayo and Anthony Horowitz, plus orchestral music and a puppet show of Peter Rabbit.

The 2013 Imagine Childrens Festival features over 60 ticketed and free events, so you can expect to find something to suit even the most discerning of young tastes at the Southbank Centre over the fortnight. With storytelling, opera for children and many workshops and talks all on the programme, there is something for everyone to enjoy, no matter what their age.

A wide range of guests are making special appearances at Imagine, treating audiences to live readings and exclusive sessions. Some of these special guests include Cathy Cassidy, David Walliams, James Campbell, Sarah McIntyre and many more, including Judith Kerr, creator of The Tiger who Came to Tea and the much loved Mog series.

Highlights of the Imagine Childrens Festival include the Dinosaur Petting Zoo at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Where's Wally hunt that children can dress up for and win prizes. Meanwhile, kids aged 6 - 10 can take part in some interactive theatre at the Beastie show, while all ages can join Timberlina and Hey Baylen for bingo rounds and dancing at the free Big Bingo Show.
