Treat yourself this September in an unforgettable and enjoyable theatrical experience featuring 'The Tiger Lillies' at Southbank Centre. The Tiger Lillies have become very well-known for their controversial lyrics, tragic tales and songs of life among the thieves, prostitutes and also pimps of Soho. Their innovative style stands against censorship, oppression and mediocrity, and of all their performances to date. Their performance promises to be one of the most memorable interpretations of the tale Hamlet yet.
The entire play has been completely stripped of all its trimmings and has solely focused on the essence of the narrative. The audience is guided through this grim and morbid tale of murder, love and revenge by a singer portrayed as an undead court jester.
This unique musical theatre performance has been specially designed to be visually spectacular as it is accompanied by circus acts, video projections and even giant puppets adorning the stage to create a myriad of dark and surreal images, which has become typical of The Tiger Lillies. Throughout the production, a strang atmosphere is created with music written by Martyn Jacques in the distinctive Brechtian gypsy-cabaret style of The Tiger Lillies.
The Tiger Lillies at Southbank Centre show will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall from 18th September – 21st September 2012 at 7:30pm and there shall be a 2.00pm matinee on 20th September 2012.
