With the launch of London Fashion Week today thousands of people in London will be exposed to new launches and ranges of clothes and accessories. This will give people a chance to explore new and traditional brands. Aspinal of London, a brand that has been highly successful despite being less than 15 years old, is a mixture of traditional and contemporary.

Helen Farr Leander,  the brand's Chief Operating Officer talks to us about the brand and her experiences in London!

If you were to describe Aspinal of London in five words how would you?
Classic with a contemporary twist

What makes Aspinal of London stand apart?
We always try and offer each piece in a variety of pop fashion colours, not just for the girls for the boys too. Mixing leather textures with contrasting suede and nubuck enables our range to be unique and individualistic on the outside but classic and functional on the inside. I also believe we have the most diverse range of Men’s leather goods in our sector with styles and colour to reflect ones personality.  

What's your favourite current Aspinal of London accessory?
Some of our pieces are always current, but my favourite thing is the Continental Clutch Purse Wallet. I‘ve had mine for 5 years and it’s been with me every day. I love leather when it wears, gets older and worn and shows the journey of time.

Which area of London do you love the most and why?
I lived in South Kensington for 2 years which was wonderful, it’s the central hub to everything I enjoy. I really like walking, so to be so close to the Kings Road, Walton Street and Kensington High Street meant that shopping was an abundance and Hyde park was my favourite for walking the dog and hanging out in the sunshine. 

What is your advice to a first time visitor to Aspinal of London?
Inhale and allow yourself to be intoxicated by the heady smell of leather.  The range is vast so if you don’t see something you want, please ask, it’s difficult to have all the options on display.  Our retail staff are very knowledgeable and many have been with us since we launched on the high street, so get to know them in your local store and they’ll be able to advise you on your purchases and assist you with gift ideas too.
