Patrick Wyatt and his colleague, Geoffrey Murray have just attended a premier arts festival in England called ‘Art in Action’, where they choose the jewellery demonstrators and organised the Metalwork and Jewellery section.
The festival, inspired by the simple principle that people are fascinated when artists and craftsmen openly demonstrate their skills and discuss their work, attracts approximately 25,000 visitors each year who come to learn, buy and enjoy, exhibitions, classes and performances of 400 demonstrating artists, teachers, musicians and performers.
Aside from that, he returned from Sri Lanka recently laden with all manner of coloured precious and semi-precious gemstones. There has been something of a fixation with diamonds for the past twenty years but a noticeable change is being detected here and a genuine interest in the wonderful world of colour! Particular interest in ‘Spinel’, a fabulous gem of varied colours and pink sapphires are de rigeur!
It seems to have been a busy summer for Patrick Wyatt, overall with a lot of interest in cognac and champagne diamonds of all sizes for both rings and earring and ring sets. Also, large diamonds have proved incredibly popular particularly in the 2.00 to 5.00 carat range.
