Against a backdrop of Euro woes Italian fine wine has never tasted so good! Come and savour the fruit of 90 wines from 40 producers drawn from 12 regions the length and breadth of the peninsula. There will also be a selection of tasty Italian cheese and tender meats for sampling on the night. The tasting will be on Thursday 6th September, 5-8pm, in the Lindley Hall at the Royal Horticultural Society's Vincent Square premises.

From his base in Piedmont, Berrys’ buyer David Berry Green has been busy this past year digging out the country’s finest wines to bring to you. Of course, you can bank on a top range of Piedmontese Nebbiolo, Tuscan Sangiovese and Venetian Corvina but in addition to which he’ll be showing a few southern belles: Campanian and Basilicatan Aglianico, Puglian Primitivo, Sicilian Nerello Mascalese and even a dainty Gaglioppo from Calabria’s toe!

David says: “Fourteen cantine are new this year, highlights including Musto Carmelitano’s nervy Aglianico del Vulture, Bele Casel’s pure Prosecco, Sergio Arcuri’s funky Gaglioppo from Calabria, the soaring Baroli of Vigneti Luigi Oddero, the enveloping Puglian Primitivi of Morella, the crunchy Alto Adige Kerner from Franz Gojer and the suave Sangiovese courtesy of Anna Lisa Tempestini’s Resta estate.” Berrys’ Own Selection Barolo will also be making its debut.
