Paul Gayler, Executive Chef de Cuisine at The Lanesborough, a St Regis Hotel in London, was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the hospitality industry and charities. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Birthday Honors were announced on June 16th 2012, the Queen’s official birthday, and recognise nominees who are judged to have demonstrated outstanding achievement and service to society.
Chef Gayler was among the opening team at The Lanesborough 21 years ago and his career has involved more than 40 years in the kitchen. As an Industry Mentor for the Skills Academy, Paul continues to lecture and support the National Skills Academy, Colleges and the Thames Valley University in his free time. Paul was proud and delighted to be told that he had been recommended for the accolade.
