The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland is set to make their long awaited London debut in the Royal Albert Hall on the 12th of October 2012, when the CBOI will present ‘London Peace Proms 2012’. Established as a peace initiative in 1995, the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) is the most highly acclaimed and celebrated youth orchestra that Ireland has ever produced.
Renowned throughout Ireland, the US and China, the Cross Border Orchestra have gained international recognition following sell-out performances at world renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, New York; Chicago Symphony Hall; Boston Symphony Hall, and major venues throughout California and Europe.“Peace Proms” is a musical and cultural celebration on a spectacular scale with the central message of universal peace powerfully conveyed through the richness and majesty of music and song.
The concert will be directed by Ireland’s top national conductor Maestro Gearóid Grant, and will feature some of Ireland’s leading soloists as well as Drum and Piping Corps. A peace choir of 1,000 voices made up of children from Primary Schools throughout London will join the CBOI on this very special occasion. The CBOI has performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Hillsborough Castle and last year the CBOI won an international award for the “Most Outstanding Performance” at the Shanghai Expo in China.
