On the 10th November in various venues throughout London the legendary Lord Mayor's Show offers a host of entertainment as it winds its way through the heart of London with vibrant samba dancing and military marching bands.

The wonderful Lord Mayor's Show dates all the way back to 1215, when King John granted a charter allowing the citizens of London to elect their own mayor and without fail every year since, the newly elected Mayor has travelled from the City of London to Westminster to pledge allegiance to the Crown.

This year the 685th Lord Mayor of London will participate in the show, as nowadays the parade is considered more of a celebration than a show of loyalty. 

Join in the fun as around half a million people turn out to watch as the colourful procession travels 2.7km across London.
