The original Rowley’s Restaurant, at 113 Jermyn Street, is in the actual building where the now famous Walls meat business was founded in 1812 by Richard Wall.
The business claimed a long succession of Royal Appointments, under the direction of his grandsons Thomas and Frederick Wall, from King George IV to King Edward VII.
The front part of the shop is just as it was in those days; the bronze plaque above the door was unveiled by the Marquis of Carisbrooke, grandson of Queen Victoria.
Rowley’s, founded in 1977, has already established an international reputation for its unique steak speciality served with a secret recipe herb butter sauce and an unlimited supply of French Fries. Many of our regular customers come from all over the world to enjoy the tasty food, aromatic wines, lovely ambience and a very warm welcome from our dedicated and friendly staff.
