This year, The Model Engineering Exhibition London takes place at The Alexandra Palace on Friday 18th – Sunday 20th January 2013. From Airfix kits to operational miniatures, model hobbyists really cannot afford to miss this event as it returns for its 17th annual show. This is one of the largest model exhibitions in the South, lasting three days and showcasing over a thousand models from over 50 international groups.

The exhibition showcases a wide variety of models, from vintage railways to futuristic rockets and everything in between. Some models have fantastic technical wizardry involved in them to create light, sound and movement, while others are magnificent display pieces that anyone would be amazed by. The other aspect of this fascinating exhibition is the varying scales of the pieces, with some tiny and others strikingly large.

Some may consider model railways to be a gentleman’s hobby, but at this spectacular exhibition you will most certainly find a variety of ages taking part. The popular Model Active Zone encourages visitors of all ages to try new activities, and include many technical demonstrations of models such as radio controlled helicopters.

The Model Engineering Exhibition London makes a wonderful day out for the family. With remote control planes, trains, cars and boats these big-kids toys are not just for big kids and you and your children might find a new hobby in creative construction.
