This 2013, visit The Ice Sculpting Festival at Canary Wharf which runs from Friday 11th January - Sunday 13th January 2013. See sculptors from around the world go head to head in a competition to find the best artists currently working with ice.

The ice sculpting festival at Canary Wharf which features some of the finest ice sculptors from around the world with teams of sculptures working against the clock and against each other to create beautiful sculptures from 2x2m blocks of ice.

The theme of this festival last year was Love London, and many of the ice sculptors drew on the city's history and culture and took their inspiration from the very location where their sculptures were on show.

Fans can see work being created live at the festival, which sees members of the teams wield both powerful chainsaws and delicate chipping tools and chisels to create their displays. The winning entry will be announced on Saturday, but before then you can walk around the works and judge for yourself which one you think deserves to win.

During the festival there is also the chance to learn some ice sculpting techniques yourself in a free masterclass where you can learn how to use the special tools of the trade at the masterclass, which is open to those over the age of 12. Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so be sure not to miss this wonderful festival!
