Covent Garden is a West End district in London. It is popular for shopping and a famous tourist site. The Covent Garden district contains iconic Neal's Yard and Seven Dials, elegant buildings, theatres and entertainment facilities like the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and the London Transport Museum. The Covent Garden land was seized by Henry VIII in 1552. The design of the square by Inigo Jones was new to the City of London, and had a massive influence on modern town planning. By the 18th century it had become a red-light district, drawn up to control by An Act of Parliament.
Today The Covent Garden is a must see tourist location famous for its cafes, pubs, shops, the Apple and the Jubilee Hall Market.
