The Globe was built in 1599. William Shakespeare made the Globe the most famous theatre in United Kingdom. The new Globe theatre was opened by the pioneering American actor and director Sam Wanamaker in 1997. The Globe Theatre is as a reconstruction of the same open air theatre from 16th century. The Globe Theatre welcomes visitors from all over the world and offers a part in workshops, lectures and staged readings. The season runs from May to October and over the Christmas period.
