Victoria Station in the City of Westminster is a hive of activity in the centre of London. It is the 2nd busiest terminus in the country behind Waterloo station serving approximately 80 million people a year. London has a population of almost 8 million people and as such requires a substantial public transport network and a highly functional infrastructure of which Vitoria Station is a vital part. The station was originally uilt in 1860 and so is one of the oldest tube stations in London. It also serves as a terminus for the National Rail over ground network and is a terminus for the Venice-Simplon Orient Express, which runs from London to Rome via Paris and Innsbruck, Austria.

Victoria Station is bordered by a local bus station as well as a coach station for long distance journeys plus it has an Airport terminal with a direct route to Gatwick. The Gatwick Express service offers non-stop transport to Gatwick Airport in as little as 30 minutes. The Coach ststion is the main coach terminal for London, serving all of the UK and continental Europe.

The station also has a deep level tube station as well as an underground station that covers the District and Circle Lines. Victoria Station is part of a Travelcard Zone 1 area which is the central zone of transport for Londons fare system. The zone contains all of the central London districts and most of the major tourist destinations which make s the fares the most expensive of the zones.
