The Ambassadors Theatre

West Street, City of London WC2H 9ND

The Ambassadors Theatre is one of the smallest London’s West End Theatre Venues. It is located in West Street, near Cambridge Circus in the City of Westminster.

The Ambassadors Theatre was designed by W G R Sprague who designed many West End Theatres and the theatre was built by Kingerlee and Sons of Oxford. This West End Theatre opened in June 1913 with a production of “Panthea”, by Monckton Hoffe. The play ran for only 15 nights.

In 1996 the London theatre was transformed into two studio spaces to accommodate the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs. In 1999 it was successfully renamed The New Ambassadors Theatre.
Since then, the Ambassadors theatre has produced many plays including: “Some Explicit Polaroids” by Mark Ravenhill, “Spoonface Steinberg” by Lee Hall, “Krapp's Last Tape” by Samuel Beckett, Marie Jones' award winning “Stones In His Pockets”, “The Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler and “On The Third Day” – winner of the Channel 4 search for “The Play's The Thing”.

The international hit STOMP is showing at the Ambassadors Theatre. It is a legendary and multi- award winning show. STOMP is celebrating its 8th year in London, since 1991 when it has become a massive international success. STOMP is all about music, but far from conventional: eight performers use everything from lighters, plastic bags, bin lids and even the kitchen sink to hammer out an explosively feel good rhythm. It is a celebration of both rhythm and life which never fails to entertain.
