Kensington Palace is a royal residence set in the magnificent Kensington Gardens. The palace has been a residence of the British Royal Family since the 17th century. The State Rooms at the palace are open to the public and independently managed by the Historic Royal Palaces charity. Visitors to Kensington Palace can choose from a wealth of activities onsite or take a tour around the palace and Kensington Gardens.

Prince Harry is due to move into Kensington Palace once the £12 million renovation work has been completed on the royal residence. Prior to her untimely death Kensington Palace was the official royal residence of Diana Princess of Wales. Princess Dianas private apartments are not open for the public to see but some of her clothing and jewellery are on display in the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. The renovation has been completed and funded in the main by donations and trust funds along with great work by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Members of the public also contributed to the renovation of Kensington Palace.

The Queens state apartments once home to Queen Mary II are open to the public where the private dining quarters, relaxation areas and the Queens Gallery can all be viewed by intrigued visitors to London.
