Breakin Convention takes place from Saturday 4th May - Monday 6th May 2013 in Sadler's Wells. The convention is a three day festival featuring pioneering hip hop dance theatre artists from around the world, with some of the planet's best poppers, lockers, house dancers, B-boys and B-girls descending on Sadler's Wells for a long weekend of live performances. The festival will also features DJ demonstrations, workshops, film screenings and freestyle sessions in the foyer.

Breakin Convention has been a sell-out success since its first year in 2004, and it has been going from strength to strength ever since. Attracting the most inspiring individuals in the hip hop dance scene, from all over the world, if you love dancing this is one event you really shouldn't miss out on.

This year the festival is back, bigger and better than ever with film screenings, dance demonstrations and displays, and it's already inspiring top notch warm up and after party events across the capital over the first of the May bank holidays. The festival is curated by Jonzi D and features everything from inspiring performances that challenge misconceptions about people living with disabilities, to live aerosol art.

The convention also invites you to warm up and get involved with all the action in a series of workshops. Hit the floor next to the world's finest bodies and hottest movers from the hip hop dance scene. Lock, pop or simply throw a few shapes but one thing's for sure, after watching the performances, you'll be inspired to dance. Some of the highlights of the 2013 festival at Sadler’s Wells will include performances from American dancer NextLevelSquad, as well as pioneering French all-female dance group Zamounda. Other acts taking to the stage include leading house dance company BirdGang Dance Company with more acts yet to be announced.
