The Chelsea Physic Garden winter opening dates at Saturday 2nd February - Sunday 10th February 2013. Why not pay a visit to one of London's best kept secret gardens, England’s second oldest botanical garden, with a unique collection of more than 5,000 medicinal and other unusual plants.
In this rare winter opening, you can see the special snowdrop collections and other winter flowering plants, in a beautiful display of botany and horticulture. The gardens normally open to the public after the winter season on the 1st April, so this is a chance for green fingered gardening fans to see Chelsea in its winter coat before the full bloom of spring.
The garden is a wonderful place to visit and is certainly a scene of serenity compared to the outside world. There are two Chelsea physic garden winter opening events in February where you can walk the grounds and see the plants at your ease, after the garden opens its gates to the public.
Snowdrops are generally in abundance during the Chelsea Physic Garden winter opening, and this year should be no different. Boasting a collection of 75 species that are largely grouped together as a tribute to the snowdrop breeders of the past two centuries, these winter flowers are a special delight to visitors on these special snowdrop days. This is certainly not an event to be missed.
