The Great Spitalfields Pancake Race starts on Tuesday 12th February 2013, join in all the fun as the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane once again hosts the irreverent Shrove Tuesday tradition.
Work up an appetite for Pancake Day by assembling a team of four and joining in. The charity sprint is hosted by the Alternative Arts organisation and will be raising funds for the London Air Ambulance, so you can take part safe in the knowledge that the money you raise in sponsorship will go towards a good cause.
You can expect to see plenty of eccentrically dressed folk, with many of the racers competing in fancy dress. While the race organisers will provide the pancakes, you'll need to remember to bring your own frying pan to take part in the event.
All you need to do to take part in the relay race, is register your team of four and then take part in the heats along Dray Walk, flipping your pancake in its frying pan as you run along. The winners will be given an engraved frying pan, and the winners of the best dressed team category will also receive a prize. Make sure you don’t miss out!
