Dorchester Collection’s iconic British London hotel, The Dorchester that is situated in the heart of London’s Mayfair on Park Lane, has revived the historical ‘Old Tom’ gin with its new blend. The Dorchester’s rooms and suites provide you an expansive view of Hyde Park along with a wide range of dining in The Promenade, The Bar and The Grill. Under the close observation of legendary bar manager Giuliano Morandin who is an expert alchemist as well, the gin is distilled by The City of London Distillery. The gin that is re-introduced for the second time only in the UK drinks market by Giuliano is available at The Dorchester Bar from June 12.

A black wax seal along with a hand signed batch number on each bottle of the gin authenticate its originality. The gin is available in 220 litre batches in order to preserve the flavour and quality. However, you can purchase it by the glass or in bottles (25ml, 500ml and 700ml) at The Bar. Giuliano and his team have been striving hard to enhance the taste by blending the gin with a special balance of botanicals such as angelica root, juniper, coriander, cardamom, orris root, cassia bark and orange peel. There are so many popular tales how the gin purportedly got its name and almost all of these hovers around the secret and somewhat unusual dispensing methods that were used in London gin house two hundred years back.

Giuliano has created a perfect summer drink the ‘Old Tom Cobbler cocktail’ in order to rejuvenate the launch which is basically a mixture of fresh lemongrass, coriander, elderflower and the Old Tom Gin. This drink will be served along with the Ramos Fizz and iconic Martinez at The Dorchester Bar for guests.

As a famous drink connoisseur he has achieved many accolades within the industry and named amongst the world’s best bartenders. Giuliano himself is very excited about his new discovery and he welcomes international guests to come and experience the result. The Old Tom gin reflects the history as well as the style of the hotel without considering the modern fusion of flavours.
