Tamara Salman is a luxury designer that has exceptional heritage within the world of fashion.

She has now developed her own stunning range of handbags and worked for several top Italian design houses in the past.

When did you start and what encouraged you to launch your handbags line?

I always wanted to run my own business when the time was right. My passion for colour, materials, textures, patterns, leathers all led to me wanting to focus on accessories primarily. Luxury handbags are the perfect vehicle to combine beautiful materials with colours and patterns and come up with a unique fashion statement.

5 words that describe your work?

Handcrafted. Vibrant. Unique. Timeless. Distinctive

What common mistakes do people make when buying or investing in a bag?

The biggest mistake is spending a lot of money on a bag that will only last one season and that everyone has. We only ever produce a limited number per colour so the chances of anyone else in the same room as you having the same bag and colour is very remote. Bags should be bought to last more than one season and work with many different outfits.

What do you love the most about London and what part of it inspires you the most? What do you advise to a first time visitor to London?

I absolutely love everything about London. The traditional rich heritage mixed with the contemporary. The old and the new.  This melting pot is what makes London so inspiring for me. I would advise a first time visitor to see all the wonderful traditional spots we have such as the palaces and the museums but also to go to experience other areas such as Shoreditch or Colombia Road flower market or Bermondsey. It’s the mix that makes London so special. Visit Tate Modern as well as the Wallace Collection for example.

What would you advise to do if we had to experience the quintessential British day?

I would start off with breakfast at The Wolseley, then explore the shops on Dover street. A stroll through St James's Park including the Mall and Horse Guards Parade. Spend some time in the lovely Fortnum & Mason exploring all the floors. Have afternoon Tea at Claridges. Spend some time at Tate Modern enjoy the views over the Thames of St Paul’s. Finnish off with perfect cocktails at the famous and very British Dukes Hotel.
