Do you need some laughter in your life this January? The third annual London Comedy Film Festival returns to BFI Southbank and selected cinemas from Thursday 23rd January to Sunday 26th January. From film fans to filmmakers and producers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, especially with more venues and live events than ever before.
This year there is a focus on satirical comedy, featuring a 50th Anniversary screening of Stanley Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove and screenings of the ever popular Monty Python’s Life of Brian.
Part of London Comedy’s Film Festival are the Discovery Awards, designed to discover and screen unique comedy film makers. This year’s winner will be presented with their award on Saturday 25th January.
Could you be part of the next generation of British comedy film makers? If so, the Kickstart Your Comedy Career course runs again this year from the 24th to the 25th January.
The Genesis cinema in Mile End will screen some British comedy films from Thursday 23rd including favourites such as Withnail and I and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
